Our Learning Philosophy

Learning shaped around every child

At Our Saviour, learning is shaped by a simple but powerful belief:

As you are

This belief underpins our education philosophy and guides how we learn, grow and live together as a community.

At Our Saviour, learning is shaped by relationships, evidence-informed practice and a deep understanding of each child.

We are committed to educational excellence through high-quality teaching, strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, student voice and identity, wellbeing, inclusion, reconciliation and meaningful connections with our community.

Through personalised learning pathways, learning support, inquiry, leadership opportunities and authentic learning experiences, students are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience, curiosity and a sense of purpose.

Everything we do is guided by our commitment to helping every child thrive, both now and into the future.

Imagine if (3)

We embrace  each child as an individual.

Learning is shaped around students’ interests, strengths and identities, with relationships providing the foundation for confidence and growth. Through high-quality teaching and evidence-informed practice, we support every child to make meaningful progress in their learning.

Students are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and take an active role in their learning. Through inquiry, collaboration and exploration, children learn with others and from one another, developing the confidence to think critically, solve problems and contribute their ideas.

Being adventurous in learning means having a go, trying new approaches and learning through experience, knowing that mistakes are part of the journey.

Learning is connected to the world beyond the classroom, helping students see relevance and meaning in what they do and who they are becoming.

Imagine if (4)

Every child is welcomed as they are.

We are a compassionate community where care is shown through everyday actions, and where students feel safe to be themselves from the moment they arrive.

Relationships sit at the heart of school life. Through strong, trusting connections with teachers and peers, students feel seen, heard and valued. Differences are respected, kindness is practised, and children learn what it means to belong to a community that looks out for one another.

Wellbeing is part of daily life at Our Saviour. We notice how students are feeling, support them through challenges and create spaces where they can find calm, reassurance and confidence. Through inclusive and supportive practices, every child is encouraged to develop a strong sense of identity, belonging and self-worth.

Every child comes to Our Saviour with their own strengths, ideas and possibilities. Our role is to know them, support them and inspire them as they learn, grow and become all they were created to be.
