Our Purpose and Values
A place to belong and become
Our purpose
Our purpose is to be a community where we are adventurous in learning and relational in heart; compassionate in action, and purposeful in life. A place where everyone is seen, known, heard and loved.
Our vision
We are a Christ-centred learning community where every child is seen, heard and known, nurtured to grow in confidence, purpose and belonging as they become all they were created to be.
Our mission
We create a compassionate and relational learning community where every child is seen, heard and known.
Through adventurous and purposeful learning, we nurture confidence, belonging and educational excellence, empowering students to discover their strengths and contribute positively to the world around them.
Our values
Compassionate in action
“I care for others and choose kindness in what I say and do.”
Compassion is at the heart of our Christian community. We notice when someone needs support, respond with kindness and seek to understand the experiences of others.
We create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every person feels valued, respected and able to be themselves. Through trauma-informed and neurologically affirming practices, we recognise and respond to the diverse strengths, experiences and needs of every learner.
We believe everyone deserves to experience a sense of belonging, wellbeing and hope. Through our words, actions and service to others, we live out our faith and show care for our school, our community and the wider world.
Adventurous in learning
“I ask questions, try new things and am brave when facing challenges.”
We approach learning with curiosity, creativity and courage. We ask questions, explore new ideas and embrace challenges, knowing that mistakes are an important part of learning and growth.
Learning at Our Saviour is engaging, purposeful and connected to real-world experiences. Through inquiry, exploration and opportunities both inside and beyond the classroom, we discover new possibilities, develop confidence and learn to think critically.
Being adventurous means being willing to wonder, create, explore and grow.
Relational in heart
“I listen to others and help everyone feel welcome and included.”
Relationships are central to who we are. We build strong connections between students, staff, families, our church and the wider community, creating a place where every person feels seen, heard, known and valued.
We listen with respect, value different perspectives and learn from one another.
Through student voice, leadership, reconciliation and community partnerships, we help every child understand that they belong, t
Purposeful in life
“I set goals, keep improving and use my gifts to help my community.”
We believe every learner can grow and succeed. Through high-quality teaching, evidence-informed practice and thoughtful decision-making, we create learning experiences that are meaningful, engaging and challenging.
We set goals, reflect on our progress and continually strive to improve. By understanding our strengths and developing our gifts, we learn how to contribute positively to our community and the world around us.
Being purposeful means learning intentionally, growing with confidence and using our gifts to make a positive difference.
Our Learning Philosophy
At Our Saviour, learning is shaped by a simple but powerful belief:
As you are, for who you are and all you will become.
This belief underpins our education philosophy and guides how we learn, grow and live together as a community. At Our Saviour, learning is shaped by relationships, evidence-informed practice and a deep understanding of each child.
