THRIVE Philosophy
An Inspiring New Framework.
In 2022, our school created a bold, unique and comprehensive framework that would shape and inform our thinking, decision-making, school culture and commitment to ongoing improvement. Called the THRIVE agenda, it is built on seven key foundations:
- Student voice and identity
- Authentic, community-connected inquiry
- Quality instructional practice
- Wellbeing
- Early foundations
- Reconciliation
- Good governance
By applying the THRIVE mindset to every aspect of OUR Saviour, we are able to deliver an authentic, student-centred and highly relational approach to educating the whole child.
Through rich, immensely personalised learning that our small school has the advantage of providing, students are given a vast array of opportunities to strongly equip them with the academic, social and emotional tools needed to flourish in our ever-changing world.
With our THRIVE mindset, we provide an authentic student-centered, and meaningful education experience.
Trust: Creating a sense of belonging and safety among students as they learn and work together.
Together: By asking questions, providing answers, making suggestions, and critically analysing each other's ideas, students practice positive group-working skills..
Teamwork: Guiding effective team-building through inclusivity, group problem solving, and positive collaborative energy.
Hopeful: Developing a sense of purpose, optimism, and positive emotions as key ingredients to happiness.
Harmony: Providing harmonious experiences through acceptance of differences, empathy, compassion, and tolerance for each other.
Health: Through our faith, we aim to foster positive thinking patterns and behaviors among our students, along with emotional and physical health.
Relationships: By cultivating active and healthy relationships with others, we can prevent isolated feelings and create a sense of security that we will never have to face life alone.
Resilient: Integrated learning that enables students to absorb stress that results from adversity and challenges, return to their baseline level, and emerge stronger.
Respect: Promoting psychological safety by fostering social cohesion and respectful engagement with others.
Inspire: Establishing positive goal setting habits that encourage the pairing of inspirational thinking with action, in turn contributing to a higher level of fulfillment and motivation.
Inclusive: We encourage engagement and innovation through inclusivity, enhancing student experience, leadership skills, and abilities.
Inquire: Instilling a passion for learning, helping students learn independently and with others, cultivating curiosity, inquiry skills, and excitement for lifelong learning.
Values: Instilling shared values to guide students towards healthy development of positive relationships.
Vision: Gives our learning and growing purpose and provides a clear direction.
Voice: By building confidence to have a voice in their lives, students will thrive, now and in the future.
Engage: Engaged students and parents have greater chances of enjoying learning, developing stronger relationships, developing greater confidence and social skills, and doing better in class.
Everyone: Having a strong sense of belonging to a community enables us to share personal relatedness and perennial growth with one another, ourselves, and our environment.
Empowering: By empowering our young people, we will help them become stronger and more confident, give them control over their lives, and help them understand their rights and responsibilities, so they can take action as needed.
From the role modelling of faith to our strong supportive community, all students are able to THRIVE as the unique individuals that they were created to be.
