Facilities

A place of teaching, we learn, love, and laugh together.

Nature Play Area

Created in 2018, our nature play areas enable students to engage with their surroundings in open-ended play and adventures, and in turn, develop valuable ‘soft skills’.

These skills are acquired through personal experiences and day-to-day interactions, and include: adaptability, creativity, decision-making, collaboration, time management and self-motivation.

Kaurna Garden

We are currently developing an exhilarating nature play area for our students, which will provide areas for environmental education and indigenous cultural connection.

A special place that tells the story of the Kaurna people and their association with land and water, it will include meeting areas, learning markers, seating for quiet reflection, and space for outdoor classroom opportunities.

Grounds

As well as adding to the welcoming feel of our campus, our grounds offer students a wide range of places to relax, play, catch up with each other, fire their imagination and creativity, and build their motor skills

In addition to a choice of play equipment to suit different ages, we also have quiet areas, indoor and outdoor spaces, our own oval, netball/ basketball court, gymnasium, school garden and even chooks – all designed to offer variety and engagement for students and their diverse interests and needs.

Our Saviour Lutheran School Church

The church is home to our weekly SHOUT services and whole-school assemblies. The school also takes part in Sunday services once a term, where we worship together with the wider Our Saviour congregation.

Library Centre

As well as being home to an outstanding collection of books, our library centre is also an area where students can come and read during break times. With its comfortable furnishings and tranquil ambience, it naturally lends itself to quiet reading and personal reflection.

The Home of the Arts and Physical Education.

Karnkendi

Named after the Kaurna word for ‘laughter’, Karnkendi is a multi-purpose facility, which acts as the teaching area for the arts as well as our physical education lessons. The centre features a dance studio, a designated area for Out of School and Vacation Care, as well as the school canteen. It is also a popular gathering space for students during inclement weather.

The Music Centre

An early love of music is encouraged at Our Saviour, and we provide an opportunity for every student to enjoy, learn and grow through musical opportunities. Our Music Centre offers class performances as well as private tuition, and is home to the school choir, the band, and string ensemble, while also providing a dedicated space for rehearsals.

Location

Our Saviour Lutheran School is situated just twenty kilometres from the CBD, in Aberfoyle Park, on the border between Adelaide’s southern suburbs and the Adelaide Hills.

Within the City of Onkaparinga, the area is well-serviced by the Metro transport system. A five-minute walk from the school is The Hub shopping centre and bus stop, with Westfield Marion only 15 minutes away and Brighton beach a 20-minute drive.

The region is an attractive place for families to live and work, with easy connections to the city, the Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Willunga.
